Choose a topic with several possible directions
Start with a specific event, then ask about a preference and share your experience. For example, a conversation about a walk can lead to a favourite neighbourhood, trips or photography. Do not cling to a topic if it clearly holds little interest. You can offer a choice of two directions. Introduce political, painful or very personal questions with attention to the other person’s willingness to discuss them.
- Start with a recent impression.
- Offer two easy directions for the conversation.
- Notice which topics make the other person more engaged.
A place to start
Choose a relevant example and adapt it to your situation. Do not assume someone has interests they have not mentioned.
What would you rather talk about right now: somewhere for your next trip or a good book or film?
I recently found a lovely route near home. Do you ever make small discoveries like that in a city you know well?

What else is useful to know
What if a topic quickly runs out?
You can follow a detail in the answer or openly suggest another topic. A short pause does not mean getting to know each other has gone badly.
What is available in GuessWish?
GuessWish offers ways to meet people through visual choices, have conversations and chat with AI. These are separate formats. Check the interface for available features, terms and the prices of individual actions.
Can you guarantee a connection or a reply?
No. Interest, replies and willingness to meet depend on the other person. The examples on this page help you start a conversation but do not promise an outcome.
