Conversation partners may live in different countries and use different familiar expressions. If a joke or phrase is unclear, ask what it means. You can say from the start whether you prefer speaking entirely in Russian or are happy to mix languages. Discuss time differences and opportunities to meet in person separately. Do not guess nationality, background or political views from the language of a profile.
