Independent GuessWish editorial guide. It is not VK Dating support and does not imply a partnership between the services.
A recognisable everyday life, concrete interests and an open invitation to talk.
The official VK project directory describes dating through shared interests. An interest therefore becomes more useful when expressed as an activity: not just “art,” but how you like spending an hour in a museum. The editorial method below is not a claim about particular interface fields. Apply it to the profile sections currently available without assuming the service offers unverified controls.
- Choose three truthful details from an ordinary week.
- Connect one interest to a scene and an easy question.
- Check photographs, accuracy and the amount of personal information.
Find three observations from an ordinary week
Think about your recent routine rather than the most impressive events of the last decade. What do you choose after work? Which activity earns space on a free day? What could you describe without preparing a speech? Select three different observations: one about your rhythm, one about an interest and one about conversation. This creates a rounded introduction without turning it into a list of virtues. Leave out an activity if its only appeal is looking popular in other profiles.
Turn an interest into a small scene
A broad label makes the reader invent your experience. “I enjoy cooking” can become a Sunday breakfast and an ongoing attempt to bake good bread. “I like travel” might become a choice between exploring an unfamiliar neighbourhood and taking a longer walking route. Add an accessible question connected to that scene. It should allow different answers rather than test expertise or demand agreement with your taste. Give the other person room to bring a separate interest into the conversation.
Give photographs different jobs
A main photograph helps someone recognise you, another may show an activity, and another can convey an everyday atmosphere. This is a way to think about purpose, not a required number of images. Check for documents, address signs or other people’s faces that you should not publish without permission. Do not present an old picture as a current portrait. If you edit an image, ask whether someone could still recognise you easily in ordinary daylight at a relaxed meeting.
Describe a comfortable pace
Instead of listing everything that annoys you, describe a format you like. Perhaps you tend to reply in the evening and prefer a little conversation before meeting. This is a useful indication, not a binding timetable. Express intentions in plain language too: you may want to get to know someone slowly or feel ready to discuss a relationship. Leave room to clarify the sentence later. A profile introduction cannot replace a conversation between two people with their own expectations.
Read the profile as a stranger would
Read the text separately from the pictures. Can you identify at least one real activity and think of a specific first question? Remove details that reveal a home route or regular schedule. If the introduction sounds like a résumé, replace one claimed quality with an example. If it reveals too much, reduce it to information you feel comfortable publishing. Return after some time to update plans that have changed rather than keeping an impressive but outdated description.
- One everyday scene is concrete.
- One question invites an answer without pressure.
- Photos are current and unnecessary personal data is absent.
A place to start
Choose a relevant example and adapt it to your situation. Do not assume someone has interests they have not mentioned.
Instead of “I love creativity”: “On Saturdays I try making ceramic cups. Uneven ones are my current speciality. Which activity do you keep enjoying even when the result is imperfect?”
About pace: “I usually reply in the evening and enjoy a conversation without a race. For a first meeting, coffee and a short walk appeal to me if we both want to continue.”

Prepare your own version
A recognisable everyday life, concrete interests and an open invitation to talk.: Choose one step and write down how you would like to suggest it.
Your text stays in this tab and is not sent to the server. It disappears when you close the page; save a file if you want to keep it.
What else is useful to know
Should I list every hobby?
No. A few specific interests usually provide more accessible conversation topics than a long collection of general labels. Choose activities that genuinely occupy part of your life.
Can a generated portrait replace my photograph?
If an image does not show your real appearance, do not present it as your personal photograph. Clear authorship and being recognisable matter when someone is considering meeting you.
What if my interests seem ordinary?
Describe your particular way of doing something familiar: a kind of walk without a precise address, a recipe or a question about a book. Distinctiveness often comes from details rather than an unusual hobby.
